Harsh ride in X3 gen 1 fixed with good result
The X3 gen 1 ride quality is known to be notoriously harsh. My car has been provided with 235/50/18 front and 255/45/18 rear from the beginning.
I've know changed to the stock Volvo XC90 tyre dimension in all four corners. This is 235/60/18, which looks a lot better (beefier) and provides an immense improvement in riding quality in all situations. The pic below is in heavy rain and low light with the mobile but it shows the proportions are even better than the stock 18" wheels that looks too low for this type of car. More rubber FTW Last edited by R1000K3; 08-09-2012 at 02:40 PM.. |

Or you could buy the Brand New KW Variant 2 Coilovers I have for sale here:
http://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=718169 $1,600 shipped! $2,300 Retail; usually available for $1,999. $400 discount and free shipping! P.S. I think you went just a little too tall on that tire. I wonder how much your speedometer is off now. Probably quite a bit. I would have just gone to the F25 X3's size of 245/50R18 instead. That overall size definitely fits the E83 perfectly. |

I would be happy to have your KW coilovers but the shipping cost to Europe would be too high. The speedo is now off by only 1.25 mph at 60 according to GPS, since it showed too much with stock tyres. |

If you want to PM me your address, I can find out shipping charges, I'm still negotiable, so I might be able to cover international shipping, plus I did advertise $1,600 shipped. It'd be easier if you were more local, that's for sure, but I need to sell. Your location does say U.S.A. though, where'd you move? |
