Shock Replacement

Just had new Bilstein B6 Performance Shocks installed @ 71K miles in the rear. Rock solid ride. No lean in the corners. Highly recommended.

Watch out - you will have oversteer, and it will be especially tricky in wet - I do think you will have rain even in San Diego - but no snow

Didn't replace the front shocks at the same time? Do you remember if they're now stiffer than stock?

Not really feeling it. After a couple of hundred miles, if it is there, it's a quite small amount. After growing up driving 1960's and higher year american cars a little oversteer is nothing.

No, I didn't replace the struts. Right or wrong it's been my experience that the rear normally wear before the front. In the case of the X3 this may not hold true as the shocks are more strut like. I can feel a difference with the rear much firmer. So in hindsight maybe I should have replaced all. No big deal though. Much stiffer than the stock. I like the firmer ride and less corner lean. I think the car is finally drivable.
