X3 Diesels in US?

I did a search and couldn't come up with the following:

Will there be an X3 2.0D or a 3.0D coming to the US? I am looking to change vehicles NOW, but it seems it may not be possible.

A salesman told me it should happen "soon" but most of the time they know 1/2 of what I do regarding specific models.

I am looking to replace my Rover, and was shocked by the high mileage by the 2.0D..haven't researched much into the 3.0D yet. My only worry is that it might not be able to tow my racecar/trailer = 3500 lbs.

Was looking to pick up an M Sport

Maybe a 35d this fall. We won't see the 20d in the US that is for sure.

Is there any chance I can find out if it is a maybe or a positive? BMW will lose a sale if I can't find out within the next 2 months

I seriously doubt there will be a US X3 diesel for the 2012 model year. Looks like you're getting a X5 or Touareg.

The new turbo 4 will perform better than a Taureg it x5 diesel. And that should be on the 2012 models. I still think we might see the 35D this fall. But I wouldn't on an announcement until August. They might even introduce it mid model year like spring 2012, to boost sales.

Only reason I see them not making a diesel yet is because sales are so good they don't need to introduce it yet. Then again why wouldn't they want to stay ahead of the comp instead of responding to them.
