Being used to an E70 M sport, I was wholly disappointed with the steering in the current model.

But my biggest gripe would have to be the interior. While not bad, it's just very boring. They need to knock it out of the park with this next model in every measure, whether it be driving dynamics or design. No longer is it competing with a good Q5, a shitty GLK, and boring Lexus RX. Everybody has stepped up their game (esp. Merc w/ the GLC) and now there's the Macan, Velar, etc. in the mix too. In the past if you wanted a nice and sporty luxury SUV there was no other choice but the X3. Now even BMW loyalists like myself are looking elsewhere.

Could you please post clear images of this. I already PMed you but would be cool if you could upload. These are for the X3 M40i, not the X3M. If production of M40i starts in October, we are atleast a year away from the M version.

However we since got a dog (55 lbs) so the X6 is a little tricky because of the trunk, so we are looking to go back to a normal SUV, but again don't need the full space of the X5... Which is why I am hoping the X3 is still full SUV sized and not slanted like the Macan/Cayanne. But if the interior still feels cheap we may just go to a X5, I would love to get a F Pace or Stelvio but we are so used to idrive which makes Jaguar's and Alfa's system seem a decade old (same with Levante), Audi's isn't bad but I hate their new SUV designs.
Oh okay makes sense. Cheers

Sit tight if you think there is something else in the pipeline...

if the snout on this X3 is already that big...i can't imagine how massive it will be on the next generation X5 and X7. Not a good thing imo...

G01 should be really good, considering the gap between the E83 and the F25, these was just miles apart.
I've had both.
I miss the option of comfort seats in the F25 though.
Surely we will see the hybrid by 2018/19, and the EV version in 2020.
The new XC60 looks great, but the Q5 was just a

its been confirmed by multiple sources a full blown X3M (not M40i) is coming, but I think the rumor is 2018 (as a 2019 model), that might even be pushing it as BMW normally doesn't come out with the M until about 2 years after the regular model launch.

This is why I wish BMW had a different name for the "M Sport" models, like Audi has "S" and "RS", people are going to be way too confused with this.
X3 M40i (need the space in there) vs X3M (no spacing) Obvious difference in appearance will be quad vs dual exhaust.

Given the direction the X1 took (borrowing heavily from the X3), I would expect the G01 to borrow heavily from the F15. Although, the kidneys do look substantially taller than the ones on the F15.

M sport is not the same as M Performance.
M sport is the same as S line at Audi. M Performance (X3 M40i in this case) is the same as Audi S models. And M is the same as RS Audis.

I was using "M Sport" as a generic term because BMW keeps changing it (is, M Sport, M Performance), is that the actual official name of the MXXi series now? M Performance? thought that was just the name of the parts you can get for the cars,

No, they haven't changed anything. The M sport package that you can put on most BMW models as an option has been around for many years.

A few years ago they started offering M Performance parts, this is parts not fitted from factory, and gave BMW qwners an option for OEM aftermarket parts.

And recently they started to offer M performance models, sporty and powerful models, but not quite ful M cars.

The F80 interior with full leather is nice, but without the full leather it isn't at the level BMW wants to be (premium car manufacturer).
I agree. I came from an F30 and don't even get me started. The transmission tunnel feels horrible cheap and the center console with the buttons is. Bit squeaky if you press on it.

Although the interior of the F25 isn't the liveliest, it's easy to use and the quality is so fantastic that I don't miss the F30 interior. Neither was i swayed by the GLC interior which is fancy looking but not superior to the F25 in quality. FYI I have the F25 LCI and never experienced the interior of the pre-LCI F25.

Hopefully the G01's interior quality and tech will be on par with the new Audi Q5.

Can't wait to see this G01 X3 and the F97 X3M. I have an E83 X3 3.0 that I flog as my dd in the winter. It's great paired with some H&R sport springs plus sway bars even when while pushing 12 years old and 165K miles. Bring on the X3 M40i and X3M!
