X3 35i Question
I have placed an order for X3 35i with Premium and Cold Weather Pkg, I also included Roof Rails. We drove the 28i, but the dealer didn't have the 35i for us to drive so we are kinda going blind on this order.
Question: 1) Can I still plugin in the iPod and control it from the iDrive or do I need to include the Pro Radio for that. I have a iPod touch that I want to be able to control and also see the Cover art on the screen. 2) I didn't get the Sports Activity Pkg, does that mean I can manually shift using the lever, I know I won't have the paddle shifter but can I still shift from the lever. Also is there a Sports mode in X3 like Mini's have (I currently have Clubman S) |

The 35i will have everything that the 28i has but more. The increase in price has to be justified more with just the engine. You will be able to control your iPod through the USB (a different cable may be needed) and you'll still have the sport mode by moving the gear lever towards the left and u can manually shif that way.

Thanks for the reply. So what is difference between standard shifter and the one that is included with either the sports activity package or M Sports package. also I could get the snap in adapter for iphone with the pro audio then right.

As far as gearing goes? Absolutely nothing... both still have the sport mode and normal mode. However I know that the Msport comes with the extra sport/ sport+ and normal mode buttons and paddle shifters. I believe that's it.

Another question:
Considering I am not getting Pro Audio or Nav, Will I still have bluetooth audio streaming. I have read a lot of stuff and it seems like some have it and some don't and BMW's website is really confusing. |

My suggestion: if you can afford it... get the Tech pkg. The larger wider screen and the available Navigation will offset in resale value and convenience from the intial costs. We're living in a tech savy world now... having that extra techie option will be easier to sell long term.
