The only bit of media I got was an accessories DVD when I picked up the X3. It was accessories for the old X3. Brilliant

I got a rock.

Nope, no welcome kit for me. It could be because of the seriously nasty letter I sent to the asswipe who manages ConnectedDrive.... but I doubt they are sophisticated and organized enough to officially blacklist me - because that would take sophistication and organizational skills.

I got a nice welcome kit for one of my E90's - which included a nice pen&ink print of the concept drawing of the E90, signed by the designer.

I think they probably randomly select certain owners to give this stuff to, which is a sort of odd way of doing it. But it does align with their practice of randomly assembling the vehicles properly at the factory... so I guess it makes sense.

I think Lotus earned his. Shame the access to the ultimate free maintenance does absolutely nothing

I got an "email"...telling me that I would receive a gift. I think that was about four months ago. I finally gave up going to the mailbox for my "gift".

Such a sad story. BMW are so cruel.

Quote BMW: "Just use your new VIN below to activate your account. That is where the road truly begins."

Turns out, the "road" is really a dead end!

FYI: At 38 grams, the supplied flash drive must be one of the heaviest ones on the planet. It's also so fat that I had to connect it through a short extension cable because there's not enough room between USB ports for the giant drive to fit. It does look pretty cool.

I'm thinking of using it as a "Valet Key" since the buttons on it won't start or unlock the car.

I couldn't agree more. However, I still doubt that was the reason.

I installed the USB drive and clicked on the Welcome "BMW" Icon and it linked to the plain old BMW NA website that I've already been registered on for years. No mention of free "Ultimate Service. I even logged in to see if there was anything new or unique about logging in after being directed there from the USB drive, but no, it's the same old BMW NA site.

Has anyone else received one of these, and did you get any "Ultimate Service"?

If this is referring to the included free maintenance that comes with the car, what's all the hype about?

Just just plugged in mine. Now my car won't start!

Yes exactly. I did have second thoughts about clicking on a piece of unknown software that came unexpectedly on a flash-drive in the mail, but I went ahead and "bit" anyway.

The really weird thing is that now if I do a Google search for Audi, Mercedes, Porsche, Lexus, Acura, or Ferrari, for some reason my browser is directed to This Web Site. Also, whenever I try to type Mercedes in a letter, the font changes to "✭❅❒❃❅❄❅▲". I'm sure it has nothing to do with the free BMW software.

Really strange, You don't think....?

I still don't understand what the welcome kit gives you access to. Is it just marketing fluff?
