Dynamic Handling Package

Does anyone know anything about the Dynamic Handling Package?
Is it the equivalent of the Sport Package?
Or is it more of some kind of an electronic handling nanny?

All of the packages are described in detail for the X3 on the BMWNA website. See "build your own".

It is the ambiguity of the descriptions on the BMW website which I hope to get more real- world info about. Many of the electronic steering/ handling packages that BMW has offered in the past have been accused of deadening the handling/ road feel. Since there is no real sport package, and this is the first time that I've considered a BMW SAV, I want to know what can I do to make it more car-like and sporty.

There are adjustable dampers, different spring rates. A more aggressive steering rate. The shift patterns and throttle mapping can be changed As well as the ability to change the xDrive to promote more neutral handling- a secondary subset is that there is a torque vectoring like effect with the inner wheel being braked slightly and the exterior wheel being sped up.

The package is a significant difference to the base car- as far as sports packs go this package is the one to check.

Does it include BMW's "Active Steering"? I would only get the dynamic handling package if Active Steering can be deleted.

I also wish I could delete the automatic transmission, but that's another story.

Pretty sure speed sensitive steering (active steering) is a standard feature.

NOOOOOOOOOO!

That would suck royally. I really don't want BMW to force something on us that's primary designed for soccer moms with lazy parking lot steering habits.

It used to be a standard feature on 6ers when it came out, until the performance-minded rebelled and then BMW made it a deletable option on the 6ers' Sport Package.
