Hmmm...
Nothing annoys me more than someone who damages something and doesn't own up to it. Think car park dings. And the seven circles of hell that exist for people who damage a car and drive away thinking that "everyone else would do that so its ok to let someone else pay for my stupidity". Note = no one is saying the original author was stupid or at fault. Just saying I dont like peopel who shirk their responsibilities. It makes the world a worse place in my opinion.

Thanks very much for all your input guys,
I went the 'Honesty' route, went into the dealer yesterday and let him know of the damage, my CA and other guys were really very helpful. The dealer said as soon as they get a claim number and the payment directed to them I should be all set to trade-in & pick-up the new car, they will take care of the repair. They gave me two options but asked me to opt for the later. 1. Sign an agreement, I will be responsible for the repairs if the Insurance company did not pay for some reason 2. wait one day till the adjuster looks at the car and the claim is started I did not pick-up the new car yesterday but started a claim with my insurance company, spoke with my insurance agent, he is going to try everything he can to get the adjuster to initiate the process ASAP. Hoping for everything to work out okay. Thanks again. |

Great to hear that things look like they will work out fine. Other than a slight delay in picking up your new car, it does not appear that you will endure any hardship. I agree with your CA about the second option.

Hi Guys,
Picked up my new car yesterday, it went very smooth, my insurance agent spoke with the dealer and sorted out the claim for the repair. My CA and the guys in the dealership was very helpful and he gave me a good demo of the car. The car is awesome except the lag in the acceleration from full stop which I think I have to get used to. Thanks... |

If I had to guess, the dealer just made even more money on your trade-in! Of course they were friendly and helpful! Glad it all worked out!
