Stock Air Filter

2016 X3 2.8. 50,000 miles. Looking to replace my air filter. In my past trucks (never owned a car) I used K&N. What is suggested to replace the stock filter in the X3?

Are these filters clean and reusable?

I just stick with stock filters. No noticeable performance gain with an aftermarket cleanable filter. I rather spend my time doing something else rather than cleaning and oiling a filter.

Try their dry filter, they're great. Have one in my truck for 8 years and using the same one.

Do the filters make the engine run lean or rich? I asked because I don’t want an injector clung issue or such.

No filters will not change the fuel mixture. The MAF is what determines how much air is coming in and adjusts fueling accordingly.

well maybe not on day one, but the way the car is designed, this engine bay is a dust magnet. The way the air flow travel on a certain speed, the dust get right in the intake and in the engine, in a way I never saw on any other car I ve owned.

Thus, my filter gets dirty very very fast. Having a washable filter makes sure that the flow is optimal.

Interesting, I haven't had much time with my used 2011 X3 35i, but when I checked the stock air filter it was pretty dirty, though I don't know how many miles/months were on it.

How often do you need to clean the filter? Do you live in a dry and dusty environment?
