CARFAX Anomaly

I have a 2011 x3 with window sticker, and all other dealer paperwork indicating that it was built on the line in Sep 2011 and shipped to the dealership in Oct 2011. CARFAX shows vehicle existed and was registered in 2010.
Does CARFAX make these types of mistakes?
Any suggestions as to how I can confirm?
This is my first ever BMW. We waited until retirement to get one for travel in the USA, and we are dismayed at the possibility that something is not right. sam

Carfax is probably wrong. Unless your BMW information is full of "white out" and the numbers are in pencil, crayon etc, I'd go with Bimmer. You can check your VIN number to be sure. If the 10th digit is a "B" then the car was built in 2011, if an "A" 2010.
