If you put crappy tires on any AWD car it will do the same thing... typical useless marketing crap. Put new snows on the Q3 and worn all seasons on the X3 from SIXT or whatever rental company.
Worth noting is that the quattro system is now more like xDrive than not... except it is still FWD and all the weight is still in front of the front axel which sucks. My better half has had 3 A4s and an A3- between us we have had 6 Audi quattro equipped cars and only 3 recent xDrive cars, (she preferred the styling and I was not a fan of E46s with xDrive) that said I'd take the xDrive for 99.9% of the time. The .1% I would take the Audi is when driving up a ski slope with spiked tires.

on the Audi system, turn off ESP when in a situation like that, then try the video - you can miss all the boring parts where the audi goes nowhere.
