New N20 Engine for the 2.8 starts when?

There is lots of info/rumors floating around about the new N20 replacing the N52 in the 2.8.

Does anyone know when production is to begin with the new 4 cylinder turbo?

Found this on e90Post.

On the heels of the big BMW turbo 4-cylinder (Specs/Info) news yesterday, SCOTT26 has provided (via his post) some dates for the switchover of certain BMW models from the current inline 6-cylinder to the new twinpower turbo I4 motor, as well as the end of production of the current 3-series, M3 and 1-series.

Here is the I4 switchover and end of production schedule:
E89 Z4 sDrive30i to switch to TwinPower I4 in September 2011
F10/F11 528i to switch to TwinPower I4 in September 2011
F25 X3 xDrive28i to switch to TwinPower I4 in 4th Quarter 2011
E81/E87 1 series to end production by August 2011 (new 1-series hatchback launched after Geneva - will herald complete petrol turbo-charged engine line up)
E82/E88 1 series to end production in 1st Quarter 2012
E90/E91 3 series and M3 to end production late 2011 or early 2012
E92/E93 3 series and M3 to end production sometime in 4th Quarter 2012

Well in the US the 35i was almost a lock for me because it's really only about $2k more, gets the same MPG as the 28i and is a lot faster. BUT with this new engine that changes things. Looks to be a tad faster than the old engine (still over 0.7 seconds slower than the 35i 0-60) and it will get a ton better MPG than the 35i.

So: 0-60 in 5.5 seconds and 19/26 mpg

Or

0-60 6.3 (guess since BMW said the x1 will do it in 6.1) and 23/32 mpg plus you put $2k in your pocket.

I would go for the turbo 4. Though I am not waiting that long, so went with the 35i.

What's the torque look like? If better on the diesel, might be nice for the 25-55 jump compared to the 0-60 where the gas setup has a bit of an advantage.

Figures seem to suggest competitive performance figures compared to the diesel and offcourse after 70mph u still have power as opposed to the 20D which runs out of puff. My attractive point, it can run on lower grade Gasoline, 91 Ron, good news where I am for diesel and gasoline fuel are generally low grade.

I hope the info SCOTT26 provided is still accurate. He posted that on 1/19. I'm holding off on my purchase for this engine and hoping they add Auto Start/Stop, too.
