LED strip light installed ?
has anyone installed any LED strip light to the outside or the inside of the X3? a very popular and easy add-on for many cars nowaday, looks quite nice if not overdone.
i am thinking to add to both the front fog lights area, add as the amber turn signal to the underside of the left and right rear veiw mirrors, or even to the footwells inside as mood light. |

IMO, if you have the angel halo rings, why need more LEDs strip on it?
It would just look stupid, no offense. But if your car doesn't have it, it's fine and a good idea to put led strips as your DRLs.

too bad mine doesnt have the angel lite and front fog lites..so i am thinking to add 2 strips at the fog lites area..plus, almost every new car nowaday has blinking turn signal with the outside rearview mirror, i am wondering if i can add one on each of mine too..and for sure i will try to make it not overdone...just wonder if anyone has done anything like that to their x3, either outside or interior..

When adding anything to a current model of BMW you must be very aware of the CanBus and other wiring. This is true on cars and motorcycles, even adding something as simple as a radar detector can cause problems.

i had a 2003 X5 before my X3, love to experiment and mod it from lights to stupid things. But IMO, our current X3 is so Sensitive that any loss or addition of electric current would trigger a fault or code which the dealer will see. The only source that i would recommend is by tapping into the non-xenon DRL so that you can turn it on or off.

You see it in the bumper, just below the headlights. And you have the switch just to the left of the button light Anyway, if you really want to LED stripe, there are kit specifically for the X3 Like here http://shoppmlit.com/shop-pmlit/exte...bulbs-kit.html |

I would not add the strips, just my preference. Please post PICs if you do.

As long as you have the angel eyes, why bother... It could be to much. I've seen some of the new Citroen's driving around with 6 strips (factory default) of led lights in front. It's way over the top and doesn't look good at all... But hey... That's just me!! |

the pic showed exactly where i was thinking to add the LED lights...sorry abt the location, dunno why i always think the two plastic covered spots at the bottom of the grille are the optional foglights location. yes, mine has the 2 round foglights under my non-angel headlights...i didnt pick the xenon package..
anyway, dunt u guy think the pic looks nice with the LED at the bottom of the grilel...? yes, i agree if u already have the angel eyes, they seem are a little overdone..now i know they are the OEM BMW parts for the european X3.. but the website who sells these OEM parts looks weird.. they dunt need payment info during checkout...and the price is $0....yes, $0..dunno what's the trick... |

I have to buy some of these, the description on the eBay page reads as follows
"Ultra-high brightness of the lights, make your luxury car is more aristocratic momentum, so elegant but not domineeringcar more aggressive."

the whole plastic cover of each DRL area is replaced by the setup, so it is a clean install and in fact it just likes the oem DRL in the european model, very neat..am i correct? it looks similar to many of the newer mercedes DRL LED bar.. |
