Ipod nano not working on 2016 x3
Hello. I know the ipod subject has been touched upon many times but i havent been able to find the answer to my specific question. I have a bmw y cable which ive used on my 2008 3 series coupe to play music on my ipod nano. The 3 series has no problem recognizing the ipod but the x3 does not recognize the device. Does anyone know how to get the x3 to recognize the ipod? The ipod itself is approx a 2004 or 2005 model

I'd actually say "DEFINITELY".
And even if an older AUDIO ONLY Y-cable were to work, you'd probably want to upgrade to the newer VIDEO cable so that album art, etc. is transferred. See below for the cable I bought, and while it will sometimes (but rarely) lose the connection temporarily, it has otherwise been pretty solid. Same deal with our MINI, sometimes they just drop. I've found that rebooting the device (we use an older iPod Classic in both cars - mega storage for our whole music library) while STILL connected with the Y-cable re-establishes the connection. Y-Cable with Video P/N 61122344300 Note the actual Y at the junction - the AUDIO only cables just have a rectangular junction. FYI, various iterations of the Audio only cables have the following part numbers: 61120440796, 61120440812, 61122338491, and maybe more. If you need a Lightning connector, good luck, as I've heard that these are REALLY hit and miss. Best bet in that may be to use the above 30 pin VIDEO Y with a genuine Apple 30 pin to Lightning adapter.
