I elected to transport my bikes on the roof rather than a hitch. I prefer the hitch solution, but this gives me a bit more flexibility in the long term. I went with black cross bars and white trays. Not 100% on the fairing yet.

The reach for me is not an issue and easier than the X5 I just came out of. I could mount 3 cross rails and 4 bikes on the X5 but needed a stool to handle the inner trays. I generally don't need to carry more than 2 bikes anymore.
