Extra insulation (seal) between front and rear door

Hi, I am thinking of adding something like a seal-strip or something, on the edge of the rear door, so that it can make a better seal with the front door (like I have on the x1 f48). It reduces the noise, also less dirt and dust can get in there.

I've highlighted the said "edge" in the attached picture (mine is a 2016 F25 LCI, but there is no difference, I've pulled the picture off google).

Can anyone give me an idea on what to use, I was thinking those U-shaped seals that wrap around the door edges (rubber door guards), but I fear it will collect grime and water and whatnot, that could damage the paint and maybe lead to rust.

Has anyone done that? any pointers? Thank you.

Pic attached.
