Drops from a tree on to windshield
I parked my car under a tree and got sticky substance dropped on to the windshield. I cleaned it with water but at one place I just scraped it with my nail. The glue like substance was hard and left a white tiny hole like mark/ dent on the windshield. It looks white compared to the entire windshield. Though it's a very small dot but irritates my eyes.
Did I spoil the coating on the windshield at that point? Can it be easily repaired? Any suggestions plz. Last edited by April1; 05-16-2012 at 01:56 AM.. |

It's tree sap or juices from the flowers. No chips positively.
Is there a coating on windscreen that got peeled off during this thick hardened substance removal? |

Doubt if any layer is on top, usually PVB layer between glass. Heat it with a hair dryer to see if you can remove it. Clay bar may also take care of it.
