Hello,

I'm trying to update the software on my 2015 X3 via USB. When I reach the 'Update Software' screen, I'm prompted with the following message (also pictured):

'Operation currently not available. Please try again later'

I only have the option to Cancel.

Does anyone have any ideas to how I can complete this software update?[IMG][/IMG]

not enough info for others to help you:
- what file did you put on your USB?
- is it in the root folder of your USB?
- How is your USB formatted?
- Which USB port did you plug it into?
- Is the engine on or not?
- What version is already installed on your X3?

I searched the glove compartment for a USB port. No luck. I even pulled out the two little cover plates in the compartment to see if there was a port behind them. Everything I've read online suggests the only USB drive on the 2015 X3 is in the center console.

sounds like you might have gotten a corrupt file somehow and/or bad formatting. I would try the following:
1. Reformat the usb stick FAT32 using a PC (not mac)
2. Re-download the bin file from BMW to your computer
3. Save the bin file to your USB stick
4. try loading again into your vehicle

good luck

from another post:
"Notes:
======

1. Some USB drives come with a hidden partition at the front of the drive. Make
sure to go into Disk Management (for Windows) or Disk Utility (OSX) and delete all partitions.
Then recreate a single partition formatted FAT32 (Windows) or FAT (OSX, it's FAT32 by default).

2. For Mac users, OSX places a series of hidden files on the USB stick which may cause the NBT not to properly read the data, if you have this problem
use a utility like Blue Harvest to remove all the hidden files/folders from the USB stick."

Hi TCBMW,
What was the source of your bin file? I tried downloading it from BMW website but it does do it.
I would like to update my NAV maps and the software - NAV maps are 2013 version! I would appreciate your help!
