I'm less than a week into ownership on my new-to-me 2017 X3 and noticed my inner brake lamps have bulbs in them but do not illuminate. I've read that since I have regular halogen headlights that these won't work and are just for show. Is that true?

So far the things I've identified that I'd like to change are:

Halogen to Xenon headlamps - so far can't find a resource for 2017 (someone else posted a link to a company that has them but only for 2011-2014)

Inner brake lamps working - in the manual I pulled up using my VIN on bmwusa.com it doesn't say anything about the Xenon headlights being a requirement for these, at least not that I can find.

CarPlay - I've determined I need an MMI for this so I know what to do here. Has anyone had any issues with functionality? Any other good resources for this other than bimmer-tech.com?

I've also got some condensation on the inside of the left taillight. Curious what could be causing that as I see no visible cracks or damage.

Ive had great success with the RoadTop unit in my other bmw

The inner brake lamps only illuminate in addition to your regular brake lights under hard braking to notify drivers behind you of sudden stops.

Although, they are also used as rear fog lamps in European countries. I have retrofitted the light control switch from a Euro F10 5 Series (They use the same switch panel)

Do you have the part number for the euro light switch?
