You will need an ENET cable as your DCAN Cable won't work.

Hi Shawn,

If I just want to read and clear fault codes for the F25, is all that I need is INPA? If so, what version do I need and is there a link available for that?

From what I have read, the Tool32 module is what is used for clearing error codes and it is part of INPA.

If you just want to clear fault codes, you can use E-Sys or Tool32. If you want to read and interpret them in any meaningful way, then you need ISTA/D (Rheingold). INPA is a little of both, but mostly all German.

Shawn,

I have INPA/EDIABAS 6.4.7 and 5.02 with a K+DCAN USB interface. And I have the F25 ECU .prg files. Will this allow me to read and clear codes on the X3 (F25)?

You need an ENET Cable, not K+DCAN. But again, I don't recommend INPA myself.

After 4 plus months driving my 2016 F25 I'm ready to start coding.

I have the e-net cable (bought it while waiting to pick up the car) and some software the cable seller sent. Since it was a few months ago I'm not sure I have the latest stuff.
E-Sys 3.26.1
E-Sys Launcher (I seem to be in a 2-day waiting period to select series)
v.55.4_PSdZData_Lite

Do I need anything newer or is this all good?

Also, my #1 task is to code the anti-dazzle and VLD back on for my LEDs. There are tons of cheat sheets and instructions but almost too many. Does anyone have a cheat sheet or instructions they have used on an LCI F25 to do this coding?

Thanks in advance.

As long as car has 55.4 or older on it, then it is good, but I would just update, as you should use latest E-Sys Launcher.

Hi Shawn,

I managed to find an old copy of E-sys. It is version 3.18 with PSDZ version 47.5 Is this enough to get clear codes on a 2011 X3 (F25 chassis)?

Also is Tool32 part of this installation?

And I looked in the EDIABAS\ECU installation folder and I don't see the F25 .prg files. Do I have to copy the F25 project files that I have from a separate zip file into this folder?

Thanks in advance,

It should be good to clear codes, but not much else.

If you have EDIABAS folder, than you have Tool32 in the \BIN folder. Use F01.prg to clear codes.

Shawn,

One more queston (I feel like Columbo). Are the Psdzdata files needed to run Tool32 or can they be omitted from the installation?

The two are completely unrelated and independent. Tool32 is part of EDIABAS, so only EDIABAS is needed, and then .prg files from SP-Daten.

Not sure if you got an answer to this, but when I helped someone with this on an F10, coding it unlocked a menu option in idrive settings that you have to enable.

Hi Shawn,

Do you have a link to the German version of EDIABAS with the Tool32?

I went to go read/clear codes with version that I have but soon realized that I have the English version, which Tool32 does not work. And I only found 1 copy of the tool32.exe in the folder.

Coasting / Sailing

I coded my 2014 LCI F25 to enable Coasting

Works fine
Enable coasting check box shows in Eco Pro config screen
Blue Coasting icons in Eco Pro screen
Needle stops on line and glows blue
Revs drop and car coasts

Icon does not show in HUD, does anyone know if it should

Hi Shawn.
I tried downloading the following file:
v.56.5_PSdZData_Lite (WORKS FOR ALL CODING (FDL CODING AND VO CODING):

Says it does not exist. Do I need this file for for coding or just for ecu flash?
Thanks.

You need PSdZData Lite or Full for Coding, and Full for Flashing.

You have to use the links when you first get them. 56.5 was replaced by 57.0, which was replaced by 57.1.

Yes.

F025 psdzdata covers F015/F016/F025/F026/F085/F086

So you will setup as follows:

E-Sys Launcher Car Series = F26
E-Sys Connection Target = F25

What could cause coding not to take.

I was trying to help a friend and do coding to fold his mirrors on an 2014 F30 however after saving the changes and coding them nothing changed. I noted then when I go back to read and edit all went back to default. What did I miss. This is not the first time I do this. I am using E-Sys 3.27.1_RC_b44813 with PSdZData v.57.1. BTW I am getting no errors what so ever reading or coding.

Thanks.
