U.S. spec x3 M Sport wheel question
Hi, everyone, ordered my car last week:
x3 35i Titanium Silver Mojave Nevada leather Fineline Wave wood trim M-Sport package Technology package Premium package Dynamic Handling package Premium hi-fi The one thing I really wanted but was unable to order were the staggered 19" 309 wheels because I really like the look of the slightly wider rear tires on the current x5's and I figured it would also look good on the x3. The specs. of the M Sport package list the wheels as type 369 wheels 8.5" x 19" but in searching the bmw.com accessories page: http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/acc...er/finder.html I came across the 369 wheels but it lists them as being staggered: "M Double-spoke 369* Cast. 8.5J x 19 front, 9.5J x 19 rear. Single wheel, without tyre. Available for X3 from 11/10" Could it be that the M sport package actually has the staggered wheels? As we all know it wouldn't the first mistake on the BMWUSA website... |

Calafer, congrats on the order. Please post pictures up when you get it, I would love to see what the Mojave looks like with the silver. That is basically the setup I will be ordering except I am going with Black Nevada. Man I really hope those 369's are staggered...

Great post. I have been wondering the same thing... I am actually pleased (I think) that they are a staggered setup, but VERY GLAD they are putting all season tires on them. I know some prefer summer rubber but I already have an X5 M Sport with summer/winter wheels I have to store and swap and didn't want another set.
Only drawback is that they cannot be rotated... but I'll live with that.

Truth is, until someone in the US takes delivery of an M Sport 35i we won't know for certain... The photos I've seen of the M Sport don't really show a staggered setup that I can tell. The other thing is the all season tires... unusual for that setup.
Could be that the M Sport comes with the 8.5's all around and the accessory package would be a staggered set. We'll have to wait patiently until someone gets their M Sport 35i and posts details (and hopefully some great photos).

When BMW decided to ruin the M Sport package and put all season tires on the 19" wheels they also decided to make them all the same size, don't expect to get staggered all-season setup. My guess is they will all be 8.5
I understand some people want all-season and thats fine, but give us the option, I mean in the past BMW always has, no cost all-season tires instead of summer, why change that now? |

After more research, and squinting at the very few available photos of the M Sport, I agree that it will come with 8.5's on all four corners.
Mako - disagree with you in terms of appropriateness of the summer vs. all seasons, but do agree that a choice would be nice. Keeping in mind that they are doing quite a bit of the marketing of the X3 as an all wheel drive vehicle with photos of it prancing through the snow, I'm sure it was decided that summer tires would be a no-no.

My understanding from the dealer is that the wheels are unstaggered. We'll see on arrival I guess.

M Sport 369's looks like they are staggered, quote "with mixed tyres" on UK BMW website.
