Radio question
I have a 13 X3 28i that came with the smaller display screen, but I do have BT hands free telephone. What model radio do I have, how do I find this out? Is it possible to aftermarket upgrade to a unit that has BT audio streaming and shows album art without going to navi and the cradle?
In the end is like to have BMW apps, unless someone can tell me that the Apps is just not worth it. I've also noticed that when I playback any audio from a device with the BMW cable in the armrest the volume is extremely low, if I switch back to the radio then I get blown away when a much louder volume. |

I don't think you can really do an aftermarket upgrade in these vehicles, but there is a guy who replaced his smaller screen with the larger nav screen and upgraded the radio too. I'm not sure if he actually added nav or not, but I think he got all the other functionality.
I don't think you can add BMW Apps, though. It's a software upgrade and I think you need a special signed key to install it. |

CD/ Multi media and external devices seem to be connected to the same aux in. And that seems to be the main problem as the volume level for CD/ DVD is so low compared to the music stored on HD which is played using external devices.

Mine also has a small screen and bluetooth. The radio has a "Bluetooth Audio" setting. You can choose that setting to pair up your music device - in my case - the iPod touch.
My "iPhone" is a dumb phone and an iPod touch. The dumb phone is paired with telephone only, and iPod touch is paired with Audio only. I can choose "CD/External Device->External Device->Bluetooth" to play Rdio music from the iPod touch. When I make phone calls, the music would go off then come back when the call ends. The only problem is the iPod touch doesn't automatically re-connect next time when I get in the car. So most of time, I just use the sync cable to connect the iPod touch. The iDrive plays Rdio songs and shows album art on the screen. But I can't use iDrive to pick a playlist or skip a song. When I do that it switches to Apple's Music app. |

@JDG857 I have adjusted the AUX volume, however it does not appear that you can adjust that volume once you are connected via the BMW Y cable.
@GreenW Do you have the Enhanced Bluetooth? |
