Is this a good deal on a 2012 BMW X3 28i? What did you pay for your 2012 X3?

I got an offer from a dealer on a 2012 X3. Vehicle will be a custome build.

Curious how this offer stands against what other people are paying relative to invoice or MSRP.

My Specs:
X3 28i
-space gray/oyster
-premium package
-convenience package
-sport activity package
-cold weather package
-rear view camera
-park distance control
-BMW assist with Bluetooth
-front all weather mats

MRSP $47,475
dealer price $44,706

I'm thinking this roughly $700 above invoice...not sure because having trouble finding invoice on the options. Only found invoice on base vehicle.

I think that's a good price.

In Canada, BMW makes around 9% margin vs invoice.

So based on that you're looking at $1,150 above invoice, and 6.1% off MSRP which is a good deal.

And wow, you Americans get a much better deal than us in terms of overall pricing. You guys start at 36,850 where we start at 41,900 for the X3 28i.

looks like a decent deal. for a website to build with options so you can compare MSRP to Invoice, I like edmunds - they also give you a 3rd value called edmunds TMV which is a nice ballpark on a new car.

do i understand you are getting park distance control and rear camera but not the full nav/tech package? Do yourself a big favor and get the package - NAV is ok but the overall idrive interface is really cool.

besides that really nice configuration.

I wasn't planning on it because of the NAV update issue. The CA said that the maps/info was on a hard drive. Which means (I'm assuming) that I would have to purchase updated software to get update maps, streets etc. every year. I have a $100 portable one that updates automatically. What is the IDrive you mention? Thanks

I couldn't find a site that has 2012 invoice pricing yet. That's why I'm not sure if this is a good deal. Sounds like it is just "ok" or a decent offer.

iDrive or connectedDrive or whatever is the whole interface to control the nav system, audio, phone (via bluetooth) car controls and even pdc. I can't imagine my X3 w/o the whole tech package. as for the nav staying current - how often are new roads built in CT?

I've never updated the NAV in my cars.. usually keep them 3-5 years. Roads don't change that much. It's nice to have the latest maps but it's really never been an issue for me.

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and i had ordered my X3 28i couple of weeks back. What i can say is... as long as you did not buy your car in Singapore, you car is well worth it! In Singapore, US$47K cannot even buy a COE (Certificate of Entitlement: which allows you to own the car for 10 years after which you will need to renew it with another COE).

I truly envy you guys who can get your car for at this price.
