2011 X3 Release Date in North America

Does anybody know the 2011 X3 release date for North America? One article is suggesting that release may be delayed by 6 months for North America. Is there any truth to this claim?

Thanks,
Carl

If you are lucky 4th quarter of this year...

It has been delayed over and over! After waiting so long I'm not so excited at this point!

Exclamation New X3

Auto Car still shows the new X3 for October 2010 in the Kingdom. Roundel is not so optimistic as they indicate it will be after production stops on the 2010 X3. I quess we can watch our dealers ordering sheet to see when no more orders for 2010 X3's are listed.

It is taking way too long...buyers aren't going to want to look at it. I am one of them, unless it comes with a diesel engine. I realize that they don't want to release an inferior product, but they should start releasing more spy photos and start marketing it to build hype.

Remember how early the GLK info was release, and then it starred in the Sex and the City movie, over a year before it was released for purchase.

They should introduce the X1 now so that buyers that want to upgrade or are just coming off current X3 deals can have a newer vehicle, that is the same size as their current. Then they could lease it for 2 years and switch to the new X3.

BMW is missing out on a huge market here. They are losing potential X1 clients to the Tiguan and others.

The only reason I can think of (and still not fully justified for now) is that this will be an awesome-looking car.....but I am not encouraged by what I have seen of the mules....

Are the chances good for the US to get the diesel this time? The X3 with a diesel would just be amazing.

I looked at my dealers order sheet today and it shows 2010 cars for June delivery to him. So far nothing after that.

The Brian Jessel magazine that I have says that it will be coming late in the fall, along with the X1. This will be the launch though, not the time that buyers can purchase.

I am thinking that the first deliveries will be Feb 2011.

I totally agree with this.

Perhaps the only reason BMW is holding off on releasing the X1 after the release of the X3 is that they are trying to grab X3 sales in the US domestic market. With no ED available on the SC built X3, I can imagine X3 pricing will be quite lofty and will narrow the gap between itself and the X5, and make the X1 quite attractive to those that want a compact SAV with BMW heritage.

It really stinks that Europe always gets the new releases first and we have to wait with baited breath for them to start selling here. Especially for a vehicle that is made here, like the new X3! OTOH, Europe gets saddled with all the early manufacturing flaws and hopefully by the time they're released here, they have been worked out.

As for me, I'm resigned to waiting for the US launch of the X1 and planning on ED. Hopefully BMW will have a change of heart and not wait so long to release it stateside.

Even though Merc did all that with teh GLK they still are not selling it lol. The lease deals on the X3 that people are coming out of are crazy good and will never be matched again by BMW. They wont make that mistake aain with the residuals. You will not even be able to lease an X1 for what you paid for your X3 so you might want to look elsewhere if your looking to spend the same or less money because thats not happening with BMW.

I am in sales for BMW and had an X3 with the crazy stupid low lease and now have a 328. I knew at the time the X3 deal was something I would never see again so I jumped on the bandwagon. The problem with that lease is that you didnt have real BMW customers leasing the car. You had honda/toyot etc money leasing BMWs and now those people who leases are up expect to get into the same car for the same or less because they think we cant give cars away LOL at them because they are dead wrong about that. They then get mad ( I see it all day) at me or BMW because they cant get another BMW for the same or less. With that logic you could get the same car every 3 years for the same price or less the we would all be paying 200 or less per month on any BMW. I never understood that stupid logic that it should cost the same or less in 3 years. Should those same people be making the same money or less than they were 3 years ago? LOL people are crazy.

BMW NA seems to always treat us as the ugly stepchild. How come you can cost out an X3 on the BMW UK site but not on BMW USA?

this is probably the reason for the delay so as to not release an inferior product:http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=262130

2011 Bmw X3

I was fortunate enought to be in Munich for some business and visited the BMW factory/museum just 2 days ago....unbelievable, highly recommended if you ever get the chance.
The 2011 X3 is beautiful, much more in line with the agressive looks of its big brother the X5. This vehicle is worth the wait, it will capture a huge percentage of the crossover market. From what they said at BMW headquarters in Munich, N.American release will be somewhere between late December, and early February. Trust me, this is the best X3 to date....worth waiting for. My Acura is due back and this is the vehicle that I will be acquiring next.
