Exhaust fume smell entering from AC
I'm driving a 2011 N55 F25 X3 , with 53K miles on it. Lately it is getting to be more frequent that exhaust fume smell enters the AC when driving at speed of 55mph -65mph with low rpm. initially I experience this only when revving the engine into the 4-5k rpm. I can eliminate the problem by closing the circulation on the AC , but I'm getting worried as to why it is happening. anyone had the experience to resolve this?

No could be a leaky vcg (valve cover gasket) oil dripping onto the downpipe. Even with a aftermarket downpipe I don't get that exhaust smell from the vents.

What does it actually smell like? Exhaust itself does not really smell like oil dripping on hot exhaust. Burning oil smells kinda like burning rubber. But I doubt you are actually smelling exhaust gasses.

will try to observe better, first thought that came to mind was as if I was behind a car that has a bad muffler or a car that did not pass emission check
