BMW Leasing - Excess Wear & Use Protection

Hi,, any body in Canada purchased the BMW Canada Leasing - Excess Wear & Use Protection ? It cost around $1200 and claim to provide $7500 protection, sounds reasonable for covering dent in the door or scratch of those 18/19in Rims ?

I am looking for your feedback or suggestions.. Thks !

It's a no brainer. Covers nicks in windshield, uneven tire wear and even up to $200 in missing parts

I took it because it will cover a lot and I won't need to spend extra money...

The Excess Wear & Tear package was the best thing I did when I leased by 335i way back in March '09.

- windshield chip

- scrape on front bumper/lp

- door dings

- scratches on wheels

- scratch on rocker panel

- low tire tread depth

about $5000 would have been the bill.

All covered by the excess wear & tear.

This is a tough decision as windshield and bumper damage is covered under insurance, tears under warranty and use of winter tires reduces tire wear. Only dents (quarter or smaller) and scratches (shorter than credit card) can be claimed with the plan, but you can have them repaired for less with a BMW shop. So there are significant limits. You do have a free pre-return done and can negotiate with them in questionable damage.

I waived the coverage to take my chances and in most cases, I might need to add less than $500.
