Hi together,

yesterday I tried to code my headunit (Navigation Business) from "Stereo" to "Hifi" to get a flat EQ-curve without a boost of the high frequencies (treble).

I just did FDL coding (FA was not changed) and set "HU_CICHB" ==> "AUDIO_SYSTEM_CIC" to value "02" (="Hifi") using this instruction:
http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/att...2&d=1338274757

The coding was successful but I think the EQ-curve did not change (sound is like before). Maybe I have to change more Parameters than "AUDIO_SYSTEM_CIC" to enable "Hifi"-EQ setting.

Is it possible to add the option "676" (="Hifi" sound system) to the FA and let
E-Sys show which parameters in which ECUs have to be changed to enable this option?

thanks for your help!

I don't think your Head Unit has a built in Equalizer function, so I do not see how any coding is going to affect the Frequency curve.

you are right: there is no EQ function available for the user.
But the headunit has 2 fix presets:
  • Standard-Preset: high frequencies are boosted to compensate the missing tweeters (cars without option S676 "BMW Hifi" only have midrange speakers mounted in the doors and subwoofers mounted under the seats)
  • Hifi-Preset: high frequencies are not boosted (because cars with option S676 "BMW Hifi" have additional tweeters)

The parameter "AUDIO_SYSTEM_CIC" defines wich preset is used.
By the way: my car is F20 (build date: May 2014) with BMW Standard Hifi (no tweeters). I want to put in some aftermarket tweeters.
Therefor the Preset of the headunit should be switched to "Hifi-Preset" .

Can somebody help me with my problem:
Is it possible to add an option to the FA (SALAP) and let
E-Sys show which parameters in which ECUs have to be changed to enable this option?

thanks,
Thomas

PM sent.

ENET cable can be found for under $20. Makes little sense to build one.

E-Sys will not show you, but, you can FA Code car afterwards, and it will make all the needed changes for you.

And then if you had to know what specifically was changed, you could easily compare the before and after FA Coding values.

Thanks for your help! With "FA Coding" you mean writing new FA to the car?

No, you do not need to write modified FA to car. Simply load modified FA, Activate it, and FA Code ECU(s).

So, what's the most useful option to code? I already have tailgate that opens/closes with remote (EU version). I guess adding more power is not an option, and that would be the most interesting part for me, since I have the weakest engine there is - sDrive18d with 136HP.

Is it possible to code tailgate to close with remote without having to keep button depressed, like for the opening?

Also, is it possible to leave cluster illumination collor to white during night too? I am kinda tired of this orange. Ambient lighting can go white easily, so why not instrument cluster?

Thumbs up x3 M sport startup screen, Speed in BC

Hey Shawn

I just want to thank you for the link and all your help. I was able to change the start up screen to M sport, remove the iDrive disclaimer, and add mph to the BC on my F25. This is what it looks like...

Thanks,
