i was just wondering if the RFTs have improved. I replaced 3 RFTs within the first year of running my e92 around NYC.
Why do you ask if there is a reason for this question? |

3 replacements in 1 year? That's horrible.
I ran original tires on my Acura TL until 90,000 miles. Yes they needed to be changed badly, but great value. I changed the tires on my IS250 at 55,000 miles and they still looked fine. Tirerack doesn't list the new tires that come with the 2012 35i SAP (309's All Weather). They do list the Summer Performance tires that came with the 2011 309's and they are just under $1,700 for a set of 4. Crazy. If they don't last at least 3 years of normal wear I will be very dissapointed.

If you have knowledge of bubbles on run-flat tires on F25s then we all have a reason for concern. If you do not, then it's likely that your question may be perceived as a troll question, one meant to inspire unnecessary fear, worries, and 100 posts. But that's just my opinion, and I'm relatively new here. |

I've only ever had RFTs when I has the 1 series, and I swapped those for regular once they wore down.
I took out BMW tyre insurance on these |

Right, but we didn't know that's why you posed the question until someone asked why and you answered.

Nice. This thread has been viewed 132 times so far, and no one has reported a bubble yet. I am happy that most of your RFTs are still in order, but I am sad that I dropped $1300 for wheel/tire insurance LOL!

I heard the BMW tire insurance only applies if you are using the OEM run-flats. True?

Prior to the X3 I had 2 leased cars within 4 years and popped 5 tires between both of them, 3 of them were fully covered with the warranty that came with the tires, not from the dealership so I didn't have to pay anything out of pocket. So what I'd recommend is if you experience any bubbles in the future see if the factory warranty covers the tire first and if not then claim from the insurance that you bought from the dealership because I believe there's a limit on how many times you can collect per year or something like that. |

What are these bubbles? The only thing resembling a bubble I've had is with non-RFTs when a steel belt in the tyre snaps after going down a pothole - this results in a bulge in the sidewall. My RTFs have never suffered from this - it's the only good thing I have to say for them. I got really fed up with replacing my non-RFTs, which admittedly were very low profile.
