Thanks for the replies everyone. Very helpful. I'm meeting with my CA in the next 2 weeks, so will report back afterwards.

Canada: Look to the USA
I purchased my 2012 35i sport with a full load, only800 miles for much less.
The Register of Imported Vehicles (RIV) just may tell you how to comply with the recall requirement without having BMW Canada punish you $$$$$. Have a talk with them because all that recall info is in the public domain. |

Hi all,
I ended up getting a 35i "demo" with only 350km on it for 12% off MSRP. It was already on the lot, so it was a fairly painless process. We'd started by negotiating on a built-to-order and got to about 6% off (which would have still cost more than this with 2 fewer option packages).

I state ignorance on the fees, taxes, etc. so may be a moot point, but I think NAFTA allows some fees to be waived. So, I'm curious, has anyone in Canada looked at purchasing in US then shipping the car? Especially, given what appears to be large price differences.

I wish. We can only import used cars into Canada from the US. BMW Canada charges $500 to confirm there are no recalls on imported car too.
Demo's and new cars don't qualify. It is quite common for premium cars to be imported from the US to Canada because of the considerable price differential charged by the manufacturers. My buddy bought an M3 and a 911 and saved a $hit-load of money. There are several companies that import cars and deal with the governmental BS paperwork for a fee. http://www.usautoimport.ca/ Quote:
