Got a checklist for picking up vehicle?
M40i finally arrived at dealership after lengthy wait. Scheduled the pickup for Tuesday afternoon. Wednesday it’s getting tint and ppf at a local shop. I intermittently hear stories about not getting CarPlay or connected drive setup properly from the dealer. Or paint not being perfect etc.
I have no doubt I’ll be super excited after technically almost 3mo (took 1mo to get allocation followed by a lil over 6 weeks build/delivery), plus this is my first brand new vehicle, and first vehicle of this class. So to make sure I don’t leave prematurely does anyone have a checklist of things to go over. Vehicle is as follows (if it matters)
Only items left out are the smokers package and hitch I believe. |

Gratz on the new Vehicle. I also haven't had a vehicle of this class before (coming from a Honda pilot), and am super excited.... for whenever it finally arrives.
make sure you post pics! one thing to check is if its had the recall work done (if any apply), as well as make sure any extras you paid for are there (both types of floor mats, etc etc.) |

I'm picking mine up in 2 weeks, based on this forum I have a rough checklist I want to cover. I'm doing the performance center delivery in Spartanburg, SC, not a local dealer. Just a few things I wanted to verify before I drove off:
BMA USA account, linked Latest iDrive updates BMW connected app setup Test send destination from app to car OTA updates to map, make sure it is latest 3D view on app test Adaptive dynamic setup Custom gesture setup (I think I'll use the 2 finger gesture for 'drive home' gps) Set some presets (there is a thread on this forum with great ideas on what people did w/ these) Panoramic view based on gps coordinates HK logic 7 enabled or not |

I had paint issues after delivery (tons of swirls, holograms) due to a terrible “detailing” by the dealer. If you notice that, then I’d point it out and try to get something worked out.
That’s important especially since you’re getting it PPFed. My detailer had to go through multi step paint correction to get it fixed before PPF and ceramic coating, which cost me hundreds extra. |

I'd add that it would be good to verify the vehicle systems are all working properly; especially HVAC. So run the AC to max and verify it is getting cold (somebody reported their car had not been properly charged). Also run the defroster on max (some have reported screeching blowers). Verify the heated seats are working (if equipped) Verify the seat adjustments all work properly Make sure you got all the manuals and paperwork. Operate the windows, sunroof and sunroof cover to full range Open and close the hood and verify proper adjustment. Open and close the tailgate to ensure no issues. Have them show you how to check the oil level Verify proper coolant level, brake fluid, etc. Verify proper tire pressure, and the TPMS is properly set up, etc |

Add to the list:
Check seats for ripples Check the rear spoiler for marks from transit film Check the nav screen for the protective film - should be removed by dealer Check the recalls - fuel system routing and rear spoiler Is internet hot-spot working AC charged All of these have been issues for previous customers |

This is pretty basic but, for those people in the US, make sure that all ordered options are listed (and listed correctly) on the Monroney sticker. (And also verify that the car VIN and sticker VIN match.) That sticker may not seem like much, but it's legally required to exist and be correct in the US. Basically, the dealer can't claim that the car doesn't have something, if it's listed on the sticker.
