Which is why I carry a bottle of spray detailer and a microfiber towel in my car. Was in a road trip one time on the highway when a bird dropped his bomb on the hood of my dark gray car. By the time I got to my destination (30 mins away) the bird poop has etched the paint. Was never able to remove the mark.

Good idea... this is the downside of living by the sea.

The dark colored shit on the roof actually made it through carwash, it was still there even though it was proper wash with brushes.

I had to remove it by hand with a cleanex I found and car shampoo I had in the booth... yack!

There is no such thing as a "proper wash with brushes" - brushes will always make - tiny - scratches in the clearcoat.

What I meant was that it wasn't just a jetwash.

As you can see from the poor shine of the car on the pic, 3 and a Ĺ years of scratching really shows.

I hope it didn't damage the lacquer! My car has been attacked several times and each time the baked on guano has etched into the lacquer. I had to resort to wet sanding the lacquer before using the dual action polisher to restore the shine!
