I took some pictures of my F25 X3 next to another E53 X5, which I also had at one point. The interior and exterior dimensions are almost exactly the same, and they feel that way, too.

When I find the pictures, I'll post them.

Not the new X3 but here is a lineup of the X1 through X6 from bottom to top.

I think the old X3 and the new X5 look more alike. My wife is always getting them mixed up.

The Long Wait Is Over.

And as it turns out the result wasn't entirely worth it.

I thought I got a better picture comparing the E53 X5 and the F25 X3, but this is all I've got.

Hope it helps (excuse the quality, I scanned the prints that I had made really quickly).

What's the need for so many SUVs in your garage?

To the OP - you state that you are considering either the X3 or the X5, but you're requesting photos of the old X5. Does that mean you're considering an older X5 or are you looking at the E70? I have photos of my X3 and E70 side by side, but that doesn't appear to be what you're asking for.

It's hard to say because of the color, and they're just so different in terms of design. The X3 looks brawny while the X5 looks tank-like. Still mean, but in a different way.

When I first saw the original X5 in black and then test drove the 4.4 I went crazy over it! Now seeing new X3 besides it is interesting. The new X3 looks pretty dynamic next to it. Impressive. New X3 design is really growing on me!
