Our M Sport LCI in Carbon Black

We collected our new F25 2.0d M Sport in Carbon Black yesterday, it was a bit of an impulse buy as we only saw it for the first time a week ago. It was an unregistered cancelled order that had just arrived at the dealership, so we avoided the long wait with a week between order & collection.

It's my wife's new car but it drives very nicely (when I'm allowed near it)

Looks very black

but when the light hits it from the right angle

Interior is a nice place to be

Leather, heated seats, business nav, climate control, F&R PDC are all standard with the M Sport spec

Since I've had aircon in cars, I've never been interested in sunroofs but this one is amazing - it makes the interior or the car so light & bright

Very nice, I have ordered space grey but everytime I see pictures of an lci m sport I want to change, I originally had carbon black on my quote, but swapped when I ordered.

I still find it a bit cheeky bmw don't put xenons on the x3 as standard.

Sunroof looks great

We love the colour and it's probably the one we'd have chosen given a free choice but, had we been speccing it ourselves, I'd have added a bit more kit (Xenons, pro nav, comfort access, electric folding mirrors, tinted windows etc. etc.) so getting it the way we did has saved me about £5k in options... but I'm sure the Man Maths will kick-in and I'll spend it elsewhere...

...just trying to work out what winter wheels would fit....

It's hard to know where to stop when speccing, plus I still have 4 months to wait and already waited 2.5 months

Spec is a real issue ... I decided that I wanted to keep it sensible so choices had to be made ... I went for the full visibility pack over Pro Nav ... Living in the Lancashire hills and commuting mainly on unlit roads as well as frequent trips to Ireland I will get value out of it ..

I want the black panel and RTTI ... but I must pay £900 for the connected drive etc which in my current Pro Nav car I have used a handful of times .. Tech is moving so fast that a smart phone leaves the factory set up so far behind ... certainly for browsing the internet !

So compromises have to be made

I was going to do sensible, but wanted pro nav and led lights (have adaptive xenons on my 1 series) and the demo x4 I drove had HUD so I couldn't resist that either.

Picked up a set of winter wheels today - though I'd get in before the rush starts with the first cold snap

Didn't want to mess around too much wondering if wheels from other vehicles would fit the F25 so I got a set of 18" 307s shod with 245/50 Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D runflats

Thank you... nice to be here...

...took my son off to start his university studies in the F25 yesterday, first long trip but it was 200+ very comfortable miles

Also spent some time with the laptop doing a bit of car coding and
- Added confirmation beeps on lock/unlock
- Enabled auto stop/start memory so it retains last used state
- Enabled closing of tailgate with keyfob
- Disabled driver & passenger seatbelt 'bongs'

We're very pleased with it so far

Stick some pictures up whenever you put them on, I'm debating on a set for mine as I run winters on my current car.

There are a couple of pictures of an F25 on 307s in this thread http://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=465045

They looked good enough to convince me to get them...

Done a little more coding on the F25 and added a feature that we used a lot in our F20 and converted the cruise control SET button to a LIM button - this acts as a soft limiter on the speed and is very useful when there are speed cameras around. Doesn't affect cruise control functionality either.

It works beautifully, set speed is shown and LIM lights up in the console, the green marker appears on the edge of the speedo and can be adjusted using the cruise control rocker

Another 'free' function that's built into the car and just needs enabling

Does the SET button now set the cruise and the limiter with just a single press?

No the SET button is dedicated to the limiter function - you can't have both cruise and LIM active at the same time.

In the normal configuration, SET just duplicates the functions available on the other buttons

Once cruise control is turned on and the speed marker set at the required speed, there are 3 ways of activating the initial cruise speed (SET, RES and pressing the rocker), when SET is used for the LIM function, you can use either of the others to set the cruise speed - I tend to use RES to activate it, while a single press on the 'cruise' button temporarily deactivates cruise while leaving the set speed marker so you can use RES to resume the previous speed

Thanks - Now that does sound like an excellent enhancement - I'll be sure to add that one!
