What is the Proper Leather Care?
I've been doing some research and found that Zaino makes a great leather cleaner and conditioner, however, I'm not sure how often to clean/treat the leather. My X3 is just under 2 weeks old and has the Black Nevada Leather, the more rugged kind, as oppose to the Napa leather which is more soft and supple.
Anyway, wondering what you guys and gals use, and how often, etc.? |

It's very subjective matter as it depends how you use your car, how do you park and what are the environment conditions. Cleaning is needed to remove the sweat, dirt, oils etc whereas conditioning is needed to maintain moisture in the leather to protect it from cracks etc.

I have black Nevada in mine and I have given it a first treatment, the car is 6 weeks old. But it turned out to be unnecessary, I had a hard time removing the excess leather conditioner after the treatment. But I usually give my leather interior this treatment twice a year and use wet wipes for leather in between. In a warmer climate It is perhaps a good idea to do a complete treatment more often than twice a year.
I have not tried Zaino yet but after reading this forum I think I have to. Does anybody know of other sources serving Europe apart from zainostore.com? |

BMW leather care is fine - have been using it every 6 months with good results. May not have a leather aroma necessarily. Could even be made by an outside specialist company and rebranded as BMW.

Had it and it was OK. Not 100ù sure, but I have heard before that BMW own leather care are repackaged Sonax products.
