New Twist On Steering Rack

I had a new steering rack installed on June 2012. Took care of the clunking noise when hitting a bump. Ever since the new steering rack was put in I would hear a chirping noise in the steering column when turning the steering wheel. Would only happen in the cold weather. Of course I took it back and they said they couldn't duplicate it. I took it back Friday for the battery issue and mentioned the noise in the steering column again. They finally herd it. They messed around with it for two days and guess what they have determined. It is the steering rack they replaced. Of course it is on back order for two or more weeks. So if you get the chirping noise, it is the steering rack. Of course they gave me a X1 to use I guess I shouldn't complain. Want my X3 back know comparison.

Just an update on the chirping noise on the steering rack. They had my car for 3.5 weeks. Because of a back order issue. They replaced it and everything is quite and tight.
