2017 X4 new order problems, HELP!

So I went in to my local dealer here in Florida around the end of July this year and put down a $1K deposit on 7/28 for a 2017 X4 28i. So far not only do I not have the car being delivered, I don't even have a production number yet! As well, the dealer says 7 other people have been waiting as long as me!?
I've called by the dealer, several times, as well as BMW Genius to no avail! Genius has told me they'd look into and get back with me, been over a week! Has anybody seen these issues with their local dealer? I'm sorry, but being told if I gave them a deposit I should have a production number within a day or so is not right if I don't have at least a number after 6-7 weeks!!?

get your deposit back and go to another dealership.

Dealer does not have an allocation from BMW -- or insufficient allocations for their waiting list. Try another dealer and ask if the have allocations.

Thanks, I may do that!! Problem is there's not many dealerships around me and this is the biggest one and would prefer to have service done thru them as well. I may call around. Thanks!

You should insist they do a "dealer trade for an allocation" within , say 3 days, or you will walk away - and of course be prepared to do just that. The "squeaky wheel gets the oil."

Even if you end up buying from another dealer, I guarantee you that your closer dealer will be happy to service your car.

This is complete BS. Run away from that dealer as fast as you can. September numbers are better than July's anyway. I had my production number within HOURS of placing my order.

Ordered car 8/31/16
Production began 9/6/16

I am scheduled to pickup my X4 tomorrow.

Get your deposit back ASAP

Now to work around this damn hurricane to get to the dealer and pick it up!! Lol

Very happy for you. But I gotta tell you: Your CA sucks!

Thought: wait until after hurricane to pick up your car. Any damage would then be HIS problem, not yours. Just my $0.02

Couldn't agree more. Next time I'd find a new CA. 9 weeks is a bit odd.
