UK- Costs for 4th year of ownership?
Hi all,
I can't believe it but I'm rapidly approaching 3 years of ownership. Can anyone give me an idea of UK prices to get extended warranty. Plus what do BMW charge to continue the Connected Drive, I find Google Send to Car very usefully. X3 SE 3.0d with ~40,000 miles I have the inclusive service package which I understand is good until year 5. |

I have recently been offered extended warranty by BMW. I received a letter with a log in name and PIN number. From there it was a question of visiting bmwwarrantysales@allianz-assistance.co.uk
There are three levels of cover and if you enter your current mileage, a quote will be tailored for you. In my case with very low mileage on my car (14k) I was quoted £685 for just one years cover! The cheapest which covers certain aspects of engine and drivetrain only is approx £250 for just one year. This is a lot more expensive than I expected! |

The standard basic Connecteddrive costs £120 per year.
Have you started a new account and logged in where you can see all the additional parts that you can pay for at the end of the 3 years?

we recently signed up for the £35 a month option for comprehensive cover- £250 excess - yes its a lot but every car we have had between 3-6 years old has cost us around £1000 for something and I think repairs on a BMW are likely to be less then that!
We have done 30K and given that that includes recovery cover Im well pleased. Given the fact it becomes transparent to the dealer (so we dont have to chase around for anything as the dealer does it all) it really is a no brainer for us. We dont have the connect drive option so cant help there. (So basically we are paying £1500 over 3 years to cover any issues even for our trips to Europe!!!)

The connecteddrive costs £120 per annum and is paid to BMW and not an insurance option with different levels of cover from Mondial.

BTW I'm also going to get in my 3rd year, but I think I might just get a new G10 or whatever new model comes out next year... I bought the F25 cash, so I'm technically I 'saved' quite a bit by not paying their 6.5% (!!!) on the lease. We'll see.
That is, if they decide to re-introduce non boring colors to the linup. They removed the (seriously lovely) ocre red I have for the leather, and quite frankly I find the BMW linup boring as hell. Everyone is gray/black/white OR that awful shade of blue for the series 1 and 3

Just put the figures into the www.bmw-warranty.co.uk site. 3.0d F25 SE.
These figures are good up to 60,000, then they start to rise. Knock off £78 if you don't need emergency service. Comprehensive (Including Emergency Service) Excess £0= £651py, Excess £100= £470py, Excess £250= £380py Named Component (Including Emergency Service) Excess £0= £543py, Excess £100= £418py, Excess £250= £346py Driveline (Including Emergency Service) Excess £0= £443py, Excess £100= £354py, Excess £250= £304py Emergency service on it own = £148. You can pay monthly direct debit and it put the cost up by ~10.5%. I'm thinking Comprehensive (Including Emergency Service) £250 excess= £35 per month Direct Debit. Thoughts? |
