The other day, I received a little pamphlet from BMW containing an "X3 Loyalty" upgrade offer, in which they offer you a $1,500 loyalty credit and give you 3 options to upgrade to a newer (and/or higher-end) X-model from your current lease.

Option 1.)
Extend your current X3 lease with BMW Financial Services for up to 6 months, and then take delivery of an all-new 2018 BMW X3 using your $1,500 Loyalty Credit.

Option 2.)
Use your $1,500 Loyalty Credit now to get a great value on a new 2017 BMW X3.

Option 3.)
Use your $1,500 Loyalty Credit to upgrade to a new 2017 or 2018 BMW X4, X5, or X6.

I was just curious, is this common practice whenever BMW releases a new model generation, and if so, has anybody here taken advantage of one of these offers in the past? I have a 2017, so if I were to proceed with this offer, it would be through either Option 1 or Option 3.

Also, typically how much do leases go for on newly released model generations? When I got the 2017 last year, they were offering the base-model for ~$360/month for 36-months with 10,000 miles/year (and a down payment, of course.)

Update:

Talked to my local dealer, and he wasn't too sure what the details were. Looked into it further, and it appears that the offer only applies if your lease is maturing within the next few months. It would've been nice if BMW specified that within the pamphlet, but no worries!

I received the ad. My lease is 13 months from now. Loyalty program is an ongoing item. You can get those discounts any time.

We purchased our X3...and then received this...

Is the $1500 only applied to a lease or can it be applied to a purchase? I didn't read any fine print lol.....

Hmmm, my mailing gave several options, for lease extensions, and purchase as well.

I'm somewhat considering taking advantage on the purchase. The only thing I don't care for on my current X3 is the halogen headlamps. Coming from a Saab with Xenons, it is hard to go back!

There could be a conquest offer. X3 has Xenons and Led options

Conquest offer? What is that?

I realize the new X3 has those lighting options, and this could alone make me think about switching.
