Got a nail on the rear right Pirelli P7

X3 had 8200 miles and got a low pressure warning this morning for one tire. found a nail in the thread. Not sure if this should be just repaired or replaced.

finally discount tire inspected it and fixed puncture at no cost.

But these tires wear fast. I had them less than a year with 8200 miles and they only have 5/32 left (~38psi on all four). Guess I am not eligible for Pirelli first year harzard warranty anymore. In addition, the side of wall of all tires never look black but dirty like they have scratched on curbs (which never happened).

not impressed by them, will go to another brand when they are up to be replaced. local bmw dealer quoted me $420/tire. ;-(

Yep. Definitely quick wear, although I managed to get roughly 40,000kms (~25,000 miles?) out of mine. I dumped them just recently because they got really loud...way too much road noise. In any case, I replaced them with 3rd Gen
Bridgestone Run-Flats (RE090AS's) from tire rack, for under a thousand for 4....so definitely cheaper than these crappy tires!

That nail is a bit closer to the sidewall than I would have been comfortable with.

plug it and drive it. i had a screw in a simular spot in a Brigestone RFT, had zero issues after 22,000 miles.

Thats I thought as well. Usually when the nail is on the last row of threads, it should not be repaie since its too close to the shoulder for a patch.
