water pump dies at 50k miles
I was told by the dealer that my water pump needs to be replaced, but the car is drivable etc.. I got a message ok my nav that engine is overheated or something along those lines, pulled over, 5 min later started the car and everything is fine, the temperature never went above 250, is that a sign I need a new water pump?

No the X3 is 2012. I am having the Dealer replace the water pump and battery as they negotiated the price down to the same level as some quotes i got from local mechanics. I am considering buying the extended warranty as i will be keeping the car for another 3-5 years. Any suggestions on what i need to look out for?
