Whats the fastest........

Speed you've got your F25 up to? I know speed limits and speed cameras exist but there are still stretches of the Motorway network here in the UK that you can still "drive" (M6 Toll)

I'm obviously not advocating breaking the speed limit.... just curious

All X3's are limited. 20D & 30D are limited to 130mph and the 35D to 150mph due to tyre spec. The question should be, who has hit the limiter!

I had a jap import a number of years ago and hit limiter within the first 10 miles of picking it up but it was only set an 180kph, 112mph. The limiter was removed the following day

Even I got 115 out of My Missus Peugeot diesel on the M6 toll but I see an awful lot of premium brands fly by. So has anyone hit the limiter?

Plenty of footage on you tube of F25's hitting the limiter, 210 kph. Haven't seen a 35D yet

Haven't done it in the X3 because I'm waiting for it to arrive but I did 230kmh on a stretch of road here in Canada. The car doesn't have a limiter because of tune. If stock the limiter is set at 210kmh

I guess all petrol X3's have 'V' rated tyres so are limited to 150mph or 240kph. The 20D and 30D have 'H' rated tyres. 130mph or 210 kph which is a little slow if you are in a hurry, even in the UK!!!!

A little slow??? You get banned for at least 18 months for anything over a ton

I wouldn't trust the X3 at that speed. It's too tall and you get too much effect from air resistance and any wind. You can feel it moving around when it's windy much more than smaller cars.

On the contrary. The 28i offers standard 17" H-rated tires and 18" H-rated tires with the Sports Activity Package. The 35i offers standard 18" H-rated tires and 19" V-rated tires with the Sports Activity Package. With the package, the 35i is limited at 150 mph, not 130 mph.

Here's a You-Tube video of a 35i that almost pegs the speedo at 256 kph.
Considering that most X3 speedos read about 1.5% high, that still equates to 156mph. Top speed is achieved in 6th gear and it takes a full minute to get there.

For a plot of the acceleration of this 35i, (derived from the video) see: 35i acceleration graph.

From the acceleration graph, the shift points and the top speed, it appears that this particular 35i has been subject to a mild "tune" and probably has had the limiter removed.

I highly doubt it had a tune...0-60 in 5 is possible considering xawd and the road vairiable..as for the top speed i think it was limited to 150 and seeing as my M5 is limited to 155 but will hit 186 I dont see a problem with the 156...but thats a good video thanks for the post

The 5th gear acceleration is pretty impressive as well.
