Each to their own right!

I love the look of it, I specifically asked to have it done. I knew roughly what it would look like and I'm more than happy with it. My past cars have had the same treatment so I'm a bit of a sucker for it I guess.

Appreciate your opinion, but what you've said isn't a blanket theory for how people want their car to look or how it should look.

When you bought it, did the M-package include gearshift paddles at that time?

No mate - I don't believe any of the of the X3's had paddle shift.

Definitely not an option when I was ordering.

Thanks mate, I ordered the 2013 X3 2.0d with M sport couple weeks ago, the specification they gave me (also can be found at http://www.bmw.com.au/com/en/newvehi...spec-guide.pdf) shows it includes gearshift paddles. However I found many photos shown in this forum don't have it, hence I asked.

Not sure if any others here who got a recent 2012/2013 X3 with M-sport, especially in Australia here, can confirm if 2.0i or 2.0d M-sport comes with gearshift paddles or not?

Many thanks.

Yeah it was never an option with aussie delivered X3's at the time when I ordered.

May have changed - mine was one of the first 2012's into the country (November 2011 build) so it has been a little while.

If your spec states it I wouldn't be surprised if you got it. Whats your salesman have to say about it ozx3bimmer?

I think that the gearshift paddles must be a recent upgrade. My auto 3.0 does not have them - they only came on the 3.5 in mid 2012 here in the UK.

I was under the impression they were available since the model release in the US? On the 3.5i standard at the very least?

One thing concerns me is that, in the specification, there is a fine print under the M Sport Package that said "incl. gearshift paddles for steering wheel (7XA), which must be ordered". But in my purchase contract, it didn't have this 7XA item there.

Anyhow I will follow up with the salesman and let you all know.

BTW did you buy the nice wheels from one of the Brisbane BMW dealer? If so, mind to tell which one is it?

I'c, thanks. In case you wonder, I asked to upgrade the M sport 19" to 20" wheels and got a reply back with a mind blowing price ... http://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=818685

It's great mate. Plenty of punch for a 2.0d. Couldn't be happier.

I will say this....

....the X3 really got the aesthetic nod on the M Sport. Our M Sport bumpers on the X5 pale in comparison.

Gearshift pedals are standard with the M Sport and M Sport steering wheel here in the Netherlands.
