Sport Activity Question
I know there has been much discussion of the Sport Activity Package and the Dynamic Handling Package. My question is on the Sport A Package:
From the bmwusa.com website: Sport Activity Package $1,250 •Sports leather steering wheel with paddle shifters •Sport automatic transmission with shift paddles •X-Line exterior trim package •Roof rails in Aluminum Satin •Sport seats I get the "sports leather steering wheel w/ paddle shifters." But what is the "Sport automatic transmission with shift paddles"? Aren't the paddle shifters in the first bullet the same thing as shift paddles in the second bullet? And does the Sport Automatic Transmission shift differently? Anyone know? |

That does seem redundant. I wonder if the sports automatic transmission is a "sport" setting like in the 3 series' automatic and "DS" mode. I know that when I used the paddles in the test drive, the X3 automatically went into sport mode without having to change the Dynamic handling setting to the sport setting.
