F25 Running Board

Has anyone tried this running bumper from Australia? I tried searching one on F25 but couldn't find one.

Good find, but we're not sure if this is the actual running board because it mentioned as nerf. Nerf is actually just hanging below the door sill with a gap. I was looking for something entirely attached like the x5.

I will try to contact the seller if the first picture is the actual board.

Does it look the same as the X5? You should have taken a picture, so we can see.

Thx for the pictures. Looks nicely done.

Question or Poll to others. Where our X3's are a bit smaller/sportier IMO than an X5 ......do you like these? I am not sure I do yet I do like them on the X5.

Very nice, I'm almost ready to pull the trigger to buy this running board. So you got this from ebay? Did you just install it yourself?

How is the quality of the side steps? Can it actually hold your weight? Since the side skirt has to be removed does it look alittle off or "funny" without the side skirt? Can you take a few pictures showing the whole car.

Because the X5 door sills are further in, to make running board flush with the fenders. That's why it looks good on X5. BMW added this running boards on E83 as accessories, I wonder why they did not do it on F25?

That's why I wanted to do this project, I will add a fender arch extension to make the fenders align with the running board. Then I will eventually buy a wider wheels & tires that will flush with the fenders & running board.

Thats a lot of work for a running board that no one is going to use and doesnt really add much to the look of the SUV To each his own I guess.

B/c it would give him an overall more agressive stance when looking at the front of the vehicle to the back.. similar to the X5... I can't wait to see this b/c X5's look a lot better IMO with a running board...

Can't for the pics & the fitment details... DIY please...

I was working on this yesterday afternoon but got stuck with the reinforcing piece, because I don't have the tool to drive in the blind rivets to hold that piece. Did a test fit...the quality & fitment is actually good. It's just like & play, except for the reinforcing piece that needs to be secured first. But don't worry how to position it because there are two holes with rubber plugs in the frame that will serve as a guide. I just run out of time last night because my wife has to go to work...she will freak out if she finds out that something is missing in her car.

I took some pics & will upload it as soon as I'm done. I will try to explain the best that I can about the details on how I installed it.

Here are some pics of my installation:

After removing the OEM lower plastic panel

The reinforcement piece

Remove two rubber plugs & the holes are the guides where the reinforcement should align

I put some duct tapes to hold the reinforcement while I'm drilling holes for the rivets. I used 5/32" drill bits & once you hit something, stop right there & don't drill beyond that.

I put lots of rivets to make it strong & safe to setp on. I used 5/32" diam. x 1/2" long rivets. The rivets will not sink all the way through because there's a brace behind the body shell. Don't worry, as you crimp the rivets, it will get shorter & eventually the rivets will flush in before the excess pin snaps off.

If you haven't use a rivet tool before, please watch this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qv9xWTunwA

After installation

I only did the right side because I run out of time. When I'm done, I will take some photos outside so you guys can see the overall look of the car with the running boards.
