I know my radio shuts off after 7 minutes once the engine is shut down. However, once the radio is off / engine off, you can push the start button again to turn on power. DO NOT put your foot on the brake pedal. If you put your foot on the brake pedal and push the start button, it will start the engine.
Now that being said, I haven't tested how long the power runs before cutting off again. I may try this next time I'm at the drive in movies to see how long the power stays on with the engine off.

An earlier post said that with the ignition off you press in on the volume knob and this allows the radio to stay on longer. Haven't had a chance to test it out properly.

Yes we still have Drive-ins here, and they rock! The one I go to has Digital Projection and FM stereo surround sound. Always a double feature for the price of one. Bring all the crying babies you want and no one cares. As a father of a toddler, this is a plus! I'll try leaving the power on next time to see if it shuts off on its own.

Our local drive-in has been there for about 1,000 yrs and hasn't changed.
Still family-run, which means a blind access, shabby facilities, dog-burgers and a list of 'Rules' as long as your arm. Brilliant.
Everyone with SUVs parks them facing backwards and tailgates.
Bit annoying when the radio switches-off every twenty minutes though and you're just getting to an important plot reveal, but our eleven yr old knows his duty is to run and hit the knob on the dashboard each time.
Thinking about using a battery operated radio and speakers instead.
