Thanks for the info. It is interesting, after looking at about a dozen cars, my wife has it down to the RX, the Q5 and the X3. Since we are probably outside of the target demographic, it surprised me a bit that the X3 is on top. The Lexus is very nice and has a more luxurious interior, which I thought would sell her but the driving experience between the two is, well, apples to oranges. (I guess she still has a bit of an edge to her ). Not to sidetrack this thread so to stay somewhat on topic, any issues related to packages (we'll probably go with M-sport and will likely be the only person who went with that package for the seats alone)? Any options that are problematic and should be avoided or visa versa, i.e., the std offering is poor and you'll want to go with an upgrade?

We had a Q5 and the RX450h before our X3, all three are very nice SUVs, but the X3 is my wife's favorite out of the three. When we were shopping for the X3, we bypass the M-Sport, as we like the look of the X3 with the black side moldings better. The sport seats were nice, but it doesnt come with power lumber support which I need to have for long trips. The must have for us were the xenon lights and the 3.0L turbo engine that came with the X3 35i. The Nav. I can take it or leave it, but the wife wanted it.

Exactly! I thought she would like the RX luxury. She's 50 and loved the power/performance. She said it made her feel safer behind the wheel because of it. I like it cause it was fast. . She didn't feel the luxury was much less than the RX. Tried the Q5 too. She liked the RX better than the Q5. Felt they had similar feel to her.

There is some truth to that, its nice to have the power and handling on tap, even if you dont use it, just in case you need to make a emergency maneuver to avoid an accident.

So the Sports Seats don't have the adjustable lumbar support? I thought you had to have the sports seats to get that.

I don't know about US specs but my sports seats do not have adjustable lumbar support. They do have inflatable side bolsters though.

Correct, the sport seat comes with adjustable side bloster and not power lumber support. The non-sport seat with leather will have 4 way power lumber support on both the driver and passenger side.

Im sure it must differ by market ...... I have sport seats with lumbar support but the lumbar was a cost option.

It may differ by model and model year too. My '11 35i has 481 sport seats with both adjustable side bolsters and power lumbar support.

Well I'm about to order my '14 X3 35i with M-Sport package and I'll be pissed if it doesn't come with adjustable lumbar support!

My opinion, you will love the M-Sport package. I am also very pleased with the 35i. I would be kicking myself right now if I had ordered the 28i but that's me.

I am still thrilled with my '13 X3 35i M Sport. Except for the Goodyear all-season RFTs. An OK tire but not great.

FYI, for the US, I believe 4 way lumbar comes only in the Premium Pkg and includes CA & leather. I believe that is the case 28i or 35i, M Sport or not.
