Apparently when it comes to BMW brakes, size doesn't matter. In the C&D comparo, the "Ultimate Driving Machine" stopped 15 feet further than the Evoque and 11 feet further than the Q5. Some driving machine eh?

well, in the minds of C&D who need food metaphors to justify the conclusion they are paid to make for buyers who can't decide for themselves. Just ask Tesla.

I guess we shouldn't trust their driving (or braking) skills .

I don't see that mentioned in the article and can't tell it from the photos. Nonetheless, you are saying BMW ships the factory equipped X3 with tires that are not the ultimate driving machine, perhaps even a safety hazard.

It wont be the first time a car manufacturer ship their cars with less than optimal tires.

I realize that there are better All Season tires on the market, but our set of Goodyear LS2's did a very good job in the snow. We have a 130' driveway and it had no problem going up or down. A couple of snow storms we had- the tires did a nice job of performing. Of course Blizzaks or Nokians would do a better job, but with the AWD the GY's did fine. No spinning of tires a single time and we take the X3 regularly to ski mountains.
It doesn't matter what "breaking distance rankings" are. If the X3 performed adequately for one's needs then that's all that matters. There are people here who buy 'Monster" audio/video cables for everything because the connections increase fidelity by 10%. This may one of the biggest scams in that industry. The human ear can't detect the difference between monster cables and the ones that cost 90% less. Evoque: Hideous looking vehicle IMHO. The traditional Range Rover I like.

Damn that M135i looks sweet! Good Luck with her!
Do yourself a favor and steer the Mrs. away from RR...they are not the company they once were. It is too bad because I was a huge fan.
