2015 X3 Rear Heated Seat Button Fell Off - HELP! :-)

Hi Folks -

One of my kids informed me recently that one of the rear heated seat buttons was "missing" from the rear console. Sure enough, somehow the button is no longer attached to the piece of trim where it's supposed to live and has fallen back into the abyss of the armrest.

I'm guessing that piece is held in by clips, but figured I'd ask here if anyone has run into this before and where they tried prying from. Would rather NOT break the trim piece if at all possible.

Pic is attached!

Thanks a ton in advance, everyone!

-Craig

PS: Yes, I know it needs to be cleaned. :-) Michigan winters are rough sometimes. Ha!

Almost looks like you can stick your finger in the hole and pull out the entire black panel. If it doesn’t come out , then I assume you need to remove the seats and gain access to the center console screws if there are any.

My Acura parking brake broke and I guess the engineers didn’t quite think about replacement. I have to remove the seats, etc.

I'd go to realoem and look up that part, and check out their diagram. It may give you an idea if that panel comes off or if there's some other easy way to get to it.

You are right! I gave it a little tug and sure enough, it came right out. Was able to reattach it to the trim piece and pop it back in. Big Win.

THANK YOU!
