Anyone know what the button on top of the shifter knob does? It's clearly not for going up and down gears as there are directional arrows to indicate moving the shifter backwards and forwards for that.
Is it to modify the aggressiveness of the transmission?

@ DCG: Most of the actual BMW with automatic gear has a plastic button called "P" on the selector lever. I don't think that people claim about it. They might claim if they leave the car, and forget to push on it before. |

Trailer hitch for rack
Hi everyone,
Kind of a random question, but do you think the X3 M would have the option available for a hitch for my bike rack? I know the M40i has the option and would be surprised if the full M car wouldn't have it but just wondering if anyone has some insight. |

If you haven't, check out this picture taken by DGod.
http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1479972 -This F97 mule sits much lower than the G01 -Rear fender flares appear to be wider -Larger and more aggressive air intakes -Lower front lip -Possible production wheels ***EDIT: Good chance this is the upcoming X2 M35i. It does appear short and not as long as the G01. Don't know if this video is a re-post but thought I would share.

Wonder how drastically BMW will change the X3/4 interior for LCI models. One concern with this car is that the interior already looks dated when compared with the 2019 X5 or next-gen 3 series spyshots.

No doubt this will be a massive upgrade from the M40i but hopefully the X3M can perform vs. the competition like the F90 M5. Given its fantastic cargo space, the F97 should be the clear segment leader.

I know it's a small thing but it seems weird the latest headline says "the 2019 X3M" and then the article says "expected to be released in 2019 as a 2020 model". This is how people get confused and hope they can get one this fall.

Well yeah, those people too lazy to read the thread. Don't really feel that bad for them. Plus this is a forum not the NYT, so I guess my bar is a little low for the copy.

At times it looks like the driver is struggling for grip. Isn't this XDrive?

Do you all think this is going to be another situation where the M will come out and then a year or so later it will get a facelift b/c the X3 will be due for one by then? I have a feeling the facelift (inside and out) might be more meaningful than normal given the direction that the new X5 is headed and how easily they can incorporate some of its characteristics.

Can't wait to see an X3M Comp Pack on the streets. Looking to purchase one around 2020-2022. That should give enough time for BMW to work out the kinks.

As an M40i driver, I can't even imagine how good the X3M could be. Its on my (very) short list when the lease is up for sure. |
