Wrong on first two, can't say anything about the last one.

Reality: 2019 launch with the brand new S58 engine.

It'll be nice to have a more reasonably-pride alternative to the Macan GTS/Turbo. This is gonna be pretty sweet.

Per first post:

The X3 M will be introduced in early 2019 and begin production as a MY2020 vehicle (U.S.). The new S58 engine will make 450-460 HP. (per ynguldn's info)

I am not getting at all this 2019 introduction and 2020 on sale ! It does not make any sense.

We are seeing a vehicle that is completely ready, and from what i know from past BMW vehicles, it will be at showrooms in less than a year !

8 series and M8 are supposed to be ready next year and we dont even know the shape of the real car, and for this already exhibited X3 we must wait 2 more years for its M version?????

Guys, the vehicle is ready ! its the final tests. Why should they wait 2 years ?

Audi and Merc have their AMG and RS version ready at launch! BMW follows.

New X3 is the new X5, X5 becomes the new X7 and that leads us to the X9........leaving room for a new baby.......

No. A model year in the U.S. can start at any point in the preceding calendar year.

This only means you're not familiar with M GmbH standard procedures. They always take 2 years or more testing what from the outside can seem like a fully finished car.

Disagree completely. The X3M must be a good competitor, but the current versions of the X3 are not at the level of the Macan

That thing really hauling ass if it can lift the front passenger wheel

Previous X5M's just tells me to expect different front and rear bumpers as indicated in the camo. I just hope it looks good.
when I got my 2016 M3 it was about $15,000 more than a 335i, I would assume the same for the X3M over the M40i, nicely equipped maybe just under $80,000 in the US (I doubt it will be more than a M3/M4)

X4 M40i will be the Macan competitor (look at cargo space, X4 is same as Macan, X3 is much more practical), on paper it looks like the X4 M40i will put the Macan S to shame and the X4M should surpass the Turbo in performance for about $15K less.

Audi comes out with the S right away, Mercedes with the AMG 43, but neither come out with their top line the first year (RS and AMG 63), Mercedes is probably the quickest but I think Audi takes as long as BMW (about 2 years).
I am a bit surprised how much camo has been removed though, usually its not that revealing 2 years before launch! Still hoping for CF roof and unique M Mirrors. I am thinking the X4M might get the CF Roof and X3M gets sunroof only.

I am more interested in Torque, really hoping the S58 is around 440-450, the X3M will need that torque boost.

The camo coming off here isn't indicative of nearing a final design. Evidenced by that front fender lacking a signature m gill - it's just the front quarter off an x3.

While M gmbh may skimp on some exterior items for "lower level" m cars (no cf roof or m mirrors on the M2), everything gets an m side gill and quad pipes. If rumors hold true and the x3m brings a proper S motor, history suggests more of the m-signature design elements.

I hope there is added work on the front and rear quarters to widen the car and make it look more aggressive. I'm optimistic we'll get fatter, stickier rear rubber with a bulging wheel arch extending beyond where the mules run - even if it just a painted plastic extension like in the x5m (and X5 m sport).

Please get us north of 295 in rear tire width from the factory!

The straight line performance to 60 of the X3M40i same as the Macan turbo and dare I say also F10 M5 performance. Unless you are tracking it and need better handling and torque, for everyday use don't see the edge of the turbo, would save the $$$. Wait to,see the X3M specs it will be best best in class performance if the rumors are true.

Nothing has changed, and your "whatever" is not going to help either.

One would have to go back all the way to early 2016 to see F90 in the same stage of development as F97 is now. 18 months or more.

2019 calendar year as a 2020 model. And I'll be happy to make arrangements with any fool willing to bet otherwise.

this is not correct. They are not close at all in real world settings. the Macan turbo is far superior and by far the best handling SUV in the market.

you can't call a vehicle with 17.7 cu ft cargo space a SUV
BMW was right in renaming theirs to SAVs, X4 is the same, those cars are in no way "utility" vehicles

Even the new Mini Countryman has 17.6 cu ft.
My old Mercedes C63 (W204) had 17, 4 series GC has 17...

X3M will be the best handling/overall Real SUV on the market when it comes out
okay maybe the Alfa Stelvio Quad will give it a run for its money, but I would never be able to put up with its Nav system and would always worry about reliability.
